Authorities Monitoring Report 2019/20 now published

The Authorities Monitoring Report (AMR) sets out key information on the delivery of the Plymouth and South West Devon Joint Local Plan. It is produced annually and sets out progress against the indicators which are set out in Annex 2 of the Joint Local Plan. The latest AMR covers the period 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020.

Joint Local Plan Partnership Board AGM

If you are interested in understanding what the Plymouth and South West Devon Joint Local Plan is and how it is delivering the adopted strategy, watch the Joint Local Plan Partnership Board AGM on Thursday, 25 February 2021 at 2.15pm.

This is the first AGM of the Board and all elected Members from across the three Local Planning Authorities of Plymouth City Council, South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council have been invited.  This is also the first meeting to be held in public, providing the opportunity for the public to watch and learn how the plan is working. 

This meeting will consider the latest Monitoring Report and progress made towards the key plan indicators.

2020 Housing Delivery Test

The Joint Local Plan Authorities of Plymouth, South Hams and West Devon have scored 144% in the latest 2020 Housing Delivery Test that had just been published by the Government on GOV.UK. This represents an increase from 139% last year and confirms our very healthy housing delivery figures.

2020 Housing Position Statement Published

The Plymouth, South Hams & West Devon Local Planning Authorities’ Housing Position Statement 2020 has now been published and is available on the Plymouth City Council website.

This demonstrates, at the end of March 2020, that the Joint Local Plan is on track to deliver its housing requirement: 

  • Just 6 years into the 20 year period 89% of the whole plan housing requirement has either been delivered, is under construction or has planning consent 
  • The combined authorities have a 6.1 year housing land supply 
  • The trajectory shows there are 15,232 dwellings that either have consent or are under construction; the equivalent of 11 years’ worth of annualised housing requirement
